Following my bachelor's degree in Nutritional Science, I worked as a medical illustrator and instructional design assistant for the HIVE (Hackspace for Innovation and Visualization in Education) within the Faculty of Medicine at the University of British Columbia.

I pursued my interest in the visual communication of medical concepts by obtaining my master's in Medical Visualisation + Human Anatomy at the University of Glasgow/Glasgow School of Art. My thesis project involved an affiliation with Geneva University Hospitals to create a web application for physicians' use in the communication of clinical information on female genital cutting to patients. Additionally, I assisted the team at Sciences sexes identités in the design of a mobile application for patient use.

I like translating science into neatly simplified diagrams and illustrations.
I also enjoy books, bikes, films, yoga, and vegetables.

I'd love to chat about working together! You can reach me at oliviamayh@gmail.com.
